When Anaheim Ducks forward Teemu Selanne talks - we listen. The "Finnish Flash" had some very harsh words for NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and his affinity for money related lockouts.

Selanne calls Bettman the "most hated person" in hockey in a recent post on the Salama blog. He also wonders out loud if Bettman is sincere in his desire to help struggling teams, asking if the NHL's boss would be willing to forfeit his $8 million annual salary for the good of the game.

Translated text...
Gary Bettman has been the NHL's boss for almost 20 years. He was hired by the NHL to bring the salary cap, and so he did, as he had received the salary cap NBA Basketball: acquisition. Twice the lockout has been a stoppage during his reign, and each time the lockout is done. Now it is the third! He is certainly the NHL's most hated person. For every NHL team's arrival at the hall throughout the hall buuaa and show her mind. Yes fans to know! He makes himself more than eight million dollars a year. Would Mr. Bettman willing to give up their salary and give part of it to these "poor" teams? Hmm ... interesting question.

Its about time somebody called a 'spade' a 'spade.' Selanne is absolutely right. In 2010-11, the average NHL salary was $2.4 million per season. Bettman is taking home over three times that amount. Hockey fans pay hundreds of their hard earned dollars to see the players on the ice. Meaning the players earn every one of those dollars and the league is the beneficiary.

If given a choice, NOBODY would pay to see Bettman. So tell me, how does he justify his salary? Maybe it is time we lock Gary out....for good.

Kudos to Selanne for not holding back. I wish more players would do that and not just make empty statements in a YouTube video.
