The Montreal Canadiens have announced that former New Jersey Devil John Madden has been hired as an amateur scout. Madden, 39, is expected to scout NCAA hockey for the Canadiens in hopes of finding diamonds in the rough and bringing in undrafted free agents.

Madden is best known as a hard-working defensive forward who knew how to help teams win, hence why his name has been engraved on the Stanley Cup three times.

I'm sure Madden will do well in his new role with the Canadiens.
