Jordan Eberle. Six year contract extension. $6mil per season.
Well, I was close.
Some argued Eberle should get less than Taylor Hall in his extension because Hall is perhaps the better all-around player. Others (like me) thought Eberle could get more money because of the huge point totals he had during his second NHL season. In the end, these two best friends got the same money, with Eberle's deal being a year shorter. It's all good.
Now that Eberle is locked in long-term, watch for Oilers GM Steve Tambellini to announce a contract extension with defenseman Ladislav Smid. I'm putting his deal at four years, $4mil per. I was exact on Hall and close on Eberle, so let's see how I do with the Smid iggy.
