My Offers

To Vancouver- Josh Bailey
For
To NYI- Keith Ballard and a 3rd rd pick

Reason- With the season about to start (maybe), the Islanders need to add two things. The Isles still need to add another defencman, and 7 million more in salary. Ballard would give them both of those things and make the Islanders a better team. Some may say that Reinhart could step in and there would be no need to add another D or salary (3+ million cap hit). He is a possible solution without giving up a player, but if the lockout lasts until December, do the Islanders really want to have him not playing until then? If he is sent back to Edmonton, I believe he has to stay there the whole year. How the Islanders handle Rienhart and Strome will be interesting.

Vancouver adds a solid, young centre, who just can’t seen to find a place on the island. I believe that bailey still has the potential to be a very good player and may be ready to breakout next year. If that happens, the Islanders may have trouble signing him depending on the CBA.

To Buffalo- Mason Raymond
For
To Vancouver- Andrej Sekera

Reason- Every week I get offers with these two guys in them. Both are soild players with decent cap numbers (not great, but decent imo). Let’s just swap them for each other and see what happens.

Readers Offers

Lovin

To Calgary - Nick Schultz and Curtis Hamilton (or some other prospect)
For
To Edmonton – Jay Bouwmeester

My Thoughts- I’m pretty sure that Schultz and JBo are not even close to being in the same league so this one is a huge no. JBo is only getting dealt if it makes Calgary better and this deal in no way does. Love him or hate him, Bouwmeester is still one of the few D’s who can play 25+ minutes a night of good hockey. If the oilers want him it will be more like, Klefbom, Paajarvi, and roster player.

Nostra-daVus

To Philadelphia:Keith Ballard, Mason Raymond, 2nd in 2013
For
To Vancouver:Danny Briere

Reason:
Philly gets 2 serviceable players and another pick to add to the prospect pool that is growing for them. With Mezjaros out, they need to add a legitimate NHL D-man. Raymond is a bubble top 6 guy who can play those minutes if needed.

Briere can fill Kesler's spot until he comes back, and when he does, put Kes on the wing so he doesn’t have to work as hard to make a contribution and stay healthy. We all know Briere is known for the clutch playoff goal.

My Thoughts- I don’t mind it. Philly gets help on D and Vancouver gets a playoffs scorer. I do wonder a little as to why Philly takes the “Ballard, Raymond and a 2nd offer” that no one else will that, but the deal is a decent starting point for Briere.

Bieksa#3

To San Jose- Luongo, Edler and Raymond
For
To Vancouver- Clowe and Boyle

My Thoughts- No. I think this is giving up way too much for an ageing D and a 2/3 line forward. I also wonder why the Sharks would want Luongo? Sure he is maybe a touch better than Niemi but does he really make the Sharks better? I’m not sure. I think the only way Vancouver would do this is if they don’t plan on signing Edler.

Edler=Boyle
Clowe>Raymond
Luongo>nothing… ahh we know that Gillis is not taking that for him.

If Vancouver wants Clowe so bad, it will take an offer of Raymond and a top prospect or a 1st to get him.

Twinks20

To Philly- Sekera
For
Ben Holmstrom and a 5th rd pick

My Thoughts- I don’t know much about Holmstrom, but I’m pretty sure that Sekera is a much better player. I’m not sure why Sabres fans want to dump Sekera. I think he’s a pretty good player.

That’s a wrap.
