10:15 pm: Forgive me for not seeing this earlier, but I was not near my computer. Leave it to my old mentor, Chris Botta to come up with another angle on anything and everything the NY Islanders do.

If Rick DiPietro was on IR when a lockout began, Islanders would have to pay him. Hence today's very official announcement

Uh, seriuosly? Okay, You know better than I do. But it's funny he always manages to find a different slant to promote and promote it with such certainty.

I am not disputing the CBA rule, but perhaps the motive. But of course, I've been called naive and a few other choice things along the way.

At 5:24 pm, the NY Islanders announced that Rick DiPietro has officially been activated off the Injured reserve list. I guess I can finally delete that message on my phone that said ten weeks back in January.

The four Long Island developers that have answered the RFQ will now wait for Nassau County to chose one to offere up a plan. As Randi Marshall, who is doing the best she can to keep Islander fans in the loop, stated repeatedly -- none of the developers offered any plans for the property, just their desire to develop it.

Meanwhile, she says that Ratner is still actively courting the Islanders to Brooklyn.

Andy MacDonald did a Twitter Q&A today at 10 am but it was too early for Michael Grabner to harass the daylights out of him. Matt Martin did chime in, but wasn't that much of a nudge.

Speaking of Matt Martin who remains without a contract for next season, I was told not to fret too badly that a deal should be able to be worked out. Crossing fingers and toes and hoping it's soon. But the good thing is that all his team mates are chatting with him as if nothing is wrong, so -- let's just assume that -- nothing is wrong.

I was also able to have an email exchange with ex-isled-EX-Islander Rob Schremp. That should be up in the next few days. Rob is still as energetic and talkative as ever. I wish he would have found a home in the NHL, but the KHL should treat him well.

Okay, more tomorrow or later as things progress.
