The New Jersey Devils have signed defenseman Matt Corrente to a one-year, two-way contract. Corrente's salary will be 105K assuming he plays in the AHL. In the event Corrente sees some time with the NHL team, his contract will be pro-rated to league minimum which is 525K.

With the Devils having eight NHL defenseman signed plus the likes of Alex Urbom and Eric Gelinas ahead of Corrente on the depth chart in Albany, I don't foresee him playing in the NHL unless the Devils suffer several injuries on the back end.
