Sayonara Shea Weber. Nashville will match his 14 year $110 million offer sheet that the Flyers threw at him last week.

Its hard to believe that the Flyers have swung as missed mightily on weber and Suter in the past two weeks.

You best believe that Paul Holmgren is on the phone with Anaheim GM, Bob Murray, looking for a trade for Bobby Ryan. Won't be easy for the Flyers to get Ryan because they are said to be disinterested in trading Brayden Schenn and/or Sean Couturier. The Flyers need a top six forward to replace the departed JVR and Jagr.

If the Sabres are going to compete for the highly sought after Ryan, they better bring a boat load of value to the table in the form of a top six forward, a puck moving D, and a prospect.

The Ducks NEED a second line centre. Will Buffalo be willing to trade Ennis to get Ryan?

According to Mike Sunnucks , of the Phoenix Business Journal, Doan has met with Jamison.

There is a drop dead date of Friday 7/27.

Doan has met with Jamison and is giving the former San Jose Sharks CEO until Friday to see if he can make some more progress or get close to finalizing the sale. Jamison wants Doan to re-sign with Coyotes but still can’t say a purchase of the team is a done deal.

If Doan can’t get serious assurances that the Coyotes sale will happen he will look at signing outside of Phoenix and will narrow that list down.

Shane Doan flew home to Kamploops on Sunday, after having visited with two of the sixteen teams who are interested in signing the UFA, the Rangers and Flyers.

Sarah McLellan of azcentral.com resports that Doan will be making other visits this week.

McLellan spoke with Doan's agent, Terry Bross, on Monday night. Nothing definitive to report YET as to where Doan will be playing next season.

Bross wants to be proactive, rather than reactive, especially since there is no news at all eminating from the Jamison group on their bid to buy the Coyotes. Doan's first choice has been to stay and play in Phoenix, however, the clock is ticking.

"We're still trying to decide which other visits he's going to take," Bross said. "We're mulling that over right now."

Pittsburgh is on Doan's list of teams to visit. It may happen this week. One would think that Doan will travel to Buffalo as well. Vancouver and LA want a face to face meeting with Doan, too.

Bross and Doan have to keep all options open right now. The Jamison deal may not happen. In the event that it doesn't happen, Doan has to be prepared to move swiftly in order get his four kids enrolled in new schools and to move his family to another city.

"When we get the news, whether it's good or bad, at least we'll be prepared," Bross said. "Otherwise we'll have to take a week to make a decision. If we find out it doesn't happen, then we're behind the 8-ball trying to go visit teams and make a decision.

Better to be proactive than reactive. Now that the Nash trade has happened, Doan and Bobby Ryan are red hot commodities.

Bross is in a tough spot right now because he is not speaking with teh Jamison group directly. The Coyotes GM, Don Maloney, is in contact with Jamison's people and is giving updates to Bross. Smart idea for Briss to wants his client to explore all avenues and all opportunities. Making visits to meet with teams is a smart idea. Seeing is believing.

Bross's strategy is simple:

"Let's get them out of the way now. If it works (with the Coyotes), great. If it doesn't, we've got a feel for the other places."

The Sabres are interested in Doan. Have been for quite some time. His on and off ice leadership qualities would help to grow the youngsters like Stafford, Ennis, Foligno, Hodgson, Myers, McNabb. He'd also mesh well with the vets like Pominville, Vanek, Regehr, Miller, Kaleta, and Ehrhoff. Doan, I'm told, is interetsed in Buffalo.

Interested enough to fly to Buffalo this week to meet with the Pegulas and Regier?

Remains to be seen.
