There were small tidbits of news today out of the Islanders camp. Some of which just wasn't welcomed.

Travis Hamonic is in town, as expected, and ran drills for youngsters. Nice day for the kids.

Rick DiPietro has hit the ice today, with pads. Considering that I still carry e is running a goalie camp at IceWorks. As someone said on Twitter today, he's probably the most expensive camp goalie coach -- ever.

More bad news hit the wire when it was announced that both Matt Martin and Ty Wishart did not accept their qualifying offers. Now, QOs are a formula based on the CBA so it's not about low-balling a player. It's astarting point and they can negotiate from there. (See Green. Mike Green.) So I'm not going to get hysterical about losing Matt Martin to an offer sheet elsewhere as he remains an RFA and I'm sure there will be negotiations to keep im right where he is.

Sean Backman accepted his QO (good man) and was given a one-year, two-way deal.

Matt Moulson is having a baby girl. God Bless.

Brooklyn or Bust for the Islanders is a hot topic for fans, but I have to say, it's a debate that we really don't have much say in. The only one that has any say in this entire thing is -- the guy who isn't talking.
