Sabres GM Darcy Regier told WGR radio in Buffalo on Tuesday afternoon that he has indeed had contact with agent for Coyotes UFA captain, Shane Doan.

"I have reached out to his agent," but, "that's going to play out with respect to the Phoenix situation and with respect to a lot of other interest from other teams."

Regier also said that he will not inquire about the availability of former Capitals UFA Alex Semin.

What a difference a year makes. lat year at this time, Luke Adam was a rising star with designs on making Buffalo's opening night roster. Today, he will have to bust his tail, and have a monster training camp if he's going to leap frog Grigorenko and Girgensons on the organizational depth chart.

How'd you like to be the son of NHL Hall Of Famer, Patrick Roy?

Fred Roy played the wing for Grigorenko in The Q last season. He's an undrafted free agent and is a long shot to make the Sabres.
