Zach Parise has had us all waiting and he will continue to make us do so, at least for another day. Parise told reporters outside of Newport Sports Agency in Mississauga, where he and his agent, Wade Arnott, have been huddled up for the last two days, that he has not come to a conclusion as to where he wants to play and he needs more time.

He would not tell reporters which teams were in the mix, but he did say returning to New Jersey is an option.

According to Parise, the Devils financial situation won't be an issue if he chooses to re-sign.

Pierre LeBrun on the expected timeline for Parise's decision:

Things can change, but my sense is that Parise decides no later than tomorrow. He's close. Just wants to chat with family in Minnesota first

For all those that will be upset for the wait, keep in mind this is career long decision. He's more than entitled to spend a few of days thinking about what he wants to do. It's not exciting for the fans or media, but he shouldn't sign somewhere on the second day if he's not ready.
