Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reports that if (when) Parise goes UFA this morning, he will demand an immediate, on-the-spot $12 million bonus.
Also, NHL teams presenting will be asked to pay second $12 million bonus to Parise next July 1st. That's $24 million guaranteed over the first year.

The Sabres have cap room, and will likely add to it by moving the contract of Derek Roy at some point in the coming days/weeks.
With regard to front-loading the dollars for a Zach Parise UFA contract, Brad Richards and Tyler Myers have the top two salaries for 2012-13 at $12M.

The predators signed Gaustad to a new four year, $13 million contract on Saturday night, thus preventing the burly centreman from hitting the open UFA market.
Darcy Regier traded Gaustad to Nashville on trade deadline day, in excahnge for the 12th overall pick in this season's draft, which materialized into Russian sniper, Mikhail Grigorenko.

So, Zach Parise was in Toronto last night. He'll meet with the half dozen teams that covet him beginning at Noon today. That is, IF he declares he's going all-in on unrestricted free agency. TSN reports that Devils GM Lou Lamoriello was in Toronto last night and met with Parise in a last ditch effort to prevent his captain for leaving Newark for much greener pastures. Parise, through his agent, has said that he will make his final decision to go to the UFA market by 10am EDT. Thats like moments away. Stay tuned for the final decision.
