Biggest Playoff Goal So Far

You'd have to go back to Game 5 of the 2010 Eastern Conference finals clincher to find the last time Jeff Carter really rose to the occasion in the playoffs.

Scored two goals that night on just his second game coming back from yet another fractured foot injury in post-season as the Flyers advanced to the Stanley Cup Final against Chicago.

Saturday's overtime game-winner against New Jersey is being called a highlight or even a career shift for Carter, who never gave up on the play.

The LA Kings only need to win 2 road games to clinch the Cup. They could three games at him and still win out which says how great the odds never favor them.

For Carter, this was a defining moment in the 2-1 win.

"I think this is by far the biggest [goal of my playoff career]," Carter said after the game in the presser. "I think it's my first playoff overtime goal. It's a huge one. It's a big one for the team. Gets us a two-game lead here. Gets us where we wanted to be coming
in here."

Carter was in the right spot at the right time just to Devils goalie Marty Brodeur's right for the game-winner. Of course, he had Dustin Penner screening out for him.

"Just looking for anything really," Carter said when asked if there was a spot he had in mind.

" Playoff hockey, you put it on the net as much as you can. It's usually a cheesy goal. But Penns did a great job of getting right in front of Marty there. To be honest, I don't even know if he saw around Penns, or if he saw the shot."

Carter was asked if there was anything he took, as a Flyer, from the 2010 Final against the Blackhawks series, that would help him in this one.

Not so much the Final, he answered, by playing against the Devils.

"Being in Philly, we played against Marty a lot" Carter said. "Played
against the Devils. I think for myself and Mike, we know a lot of their
tendencies.

"I think they've kind of opened their game up a little more. There's
still some things you have to adjust to. It definitely helps."
