I had a chance to chat with Tom Wilson of the Plymouth Whalers last week for a more extensive interview for the Future Considerations 2012 NHL Draft Guide. I quickly added a couple questions that Twitter/HockeyBuzz followers sent my way, so here you are, folks. Enjoy.

(Check out the above link for a chance to win a game-worn Griffin Reinhart helmet.)

Did the Leafs have any effect on you growing up in Ontario?

Growing up in Toronto it's bread upon you, cheering for them. My dad grew up a Canadiens fan, so I followed them too, and I know it's a big rivalry, but the Leafs were still so big.

How big was your parents influence on your career?

My dad like the typical father had a rink for me in the backyard of Toronto, and has had me skating since I was two years. He's always been a great hockey dad, never putting pressure on me, so that's pretty great.

If you could play on a line with any two players, who would it be?

I'd definitely say Lucic as one, with a skilled guy like a Crosby or a Malkin. I think that'd be a cool line to have another big power forward, to go to the dirty areas. It's kinda like my line with Mitch Heard and J.T. Miller. Mitch could do everything.

NOTES

- With the London Knights up 3-1 on the Niagara Ice Dogs, they return to the JLC tonight for what could be a huge victory in London, or a chance for the Dogs to rally back into the series after losing three straight. Catch the game on Sportsnet.

- Saint John swept their series over Rimouski last night. How easy was this run for the Sea Dogs> Will they repeat as Memorial Cup Champs?

- The Oil Kings are up 3-2 on the Portland Winterhawks, which returns to Portland tomorrow night. Can the heavy Favorited Oil Kings come out on top? Or will Portland finally get over the hump after being a favorite last year to come out of the Dub?

- Seth Jones signed with Portland this past week. A potential 1st overall pick in next year's draft, some say Jones could play in the NHL right now. Jones chose the WHL after his rights were traded to Portland. He spent the past season with the U-18 program in Ann Arbor, before choosing the CHL over the NCAA. A source told me right after the deal to Portland that he would "100%" go to Portland.
