Would you play Adam Larsson vs. Florida? + Albany signs Reid Boucher to ATO |

The NHL playoffs start tonight, but they don't start for the New Jersey Devils until Friday when they take on the 3rd seeded Florida Panthers. Here are a couple thoughts on the series, as well as a couple of prospect updates.
- I've been thinking about this all week, and I'm still undecided if the Devils should use Adam Larsson in game one of this series. I like Larsson and believe he shouldn't have been taken out of the lineup to begin with, but with Peter Harrold playing so well there's not really a reason to put Larsson back in. If I'm Pete DeBoer I play Harrold until he has a bad game. When he does, Larsson goes back in.
That's just my opinion, though. If you're Pete DeBoer would you play Adam Larsson in game one?
- I really think Ilya Kovalchuk is going to have a big series against Florida. He's more committed to winning than ever before, and I truly believe he will be a big time difference maker in this year's playoffs. He won't allow the Devils to lose in the first round without a big time fight; especially to a Florida team that they're better than whether you look at their rosters, win totals, or the stats.
- The Albany Devils announced today that Devils prospect Reid Boucher, who played for the Sarnia in the OHL this season, has signed an ATO with the team. He'll finish the season there. The book on him: speedy winger with an outstanding shot. Poor two-way game, at least at this point in his career.
- Scott Wedgewood stopped 27 of 30 yesterday in a 4-3 Plymouth win over the Kitchener Rangers. Plymouth now leads the series 2-1 and they lost the opening game of the series.
