Today is a beautiful day in the Delaware Valley, so here's wishing everyone a wonderful rest of the weekend on Easter Sunday and the third night of Passover. The schedule for all first round series will be announced at 1 p.m. EDT on NHL Network (which will also be streamed live on NHL.com).

As for yesterday's game in Pittsburgh, the match was little more than an April version of the final game of exhibition season. The Flyers lost, 4-2, but the result would have been equally meaningless if they had won the game. Claude Giroux and Ilya Bryzgalov were held out of game, along with Philly's contingent of injured players (Danny Briere, Nicklas Grossmann, James van Riemsdyk, Andrej Meszaros).

Grossmann will attempt to skate for the first time today. Briere is also apparently feeling better. JVR might be able to return late in the first round. Meszaros is still a ways away.

Kimmo Timonen dressed in yesterday's game but played rather sparingly. The highlights for Philly consisted of rookie Brayden Schenn scoring his 12th goal of the season (all in the 2012 calendar year) and Jaromir Jagr finally snapping his goal drought in the final game of the season. The Flyers came back from a pair of one-goal deficits but goals but goals by Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin put the game away for Pittsburgh.

I will be taking a day off from writing tomorrow. On Tuesday, I will have a series preview.
