At first glance, the initial reaction was, 'who's the big guy in the black helmet?'

The big guy turned out to be none other than The Big E - Eric Lindros - who made a surprise appearance at the morning skate with the Flyers.

He was the invited guest of Paul Holmgren. It was great to see Lindros continuing to integrate himself back into the Flyers family.

None of this would have been possible were it not for burying the hatchet at the Winter Classic with Bob Clarke when he made his reappearance in Flyer gear after more than a decade.

"As you get older, you realize there is more to life than just hockey, even though the game is fantastic," Lindros said after his skate today.

"There’s many more things to do. I had opportunity to explore a few different areas. And I've enjoyed it."
