9:32 pm: This was a game the Isles should have won. They found a way to lose it. again.

9:25 pm: I never liked Tim Wallace. He scores for the Bolts 4 - 3.

9:06 pm: Oh sure -- Midway through the third, Montoya gives up a goal to Pyatt to tie it at 3.

9:02 pm: Matt Moulson scores his 100th goal of his career to give the Isles a one goal leaad.

8:36 pm: Isles and Bolts all tied at two after Stamkos first sent Hamonic tot he quiet room and then scored the first goal then was left all alone and scored the second goal early in the second.

Frans Nielsen put the Isles on the board with a power play goal and Kyle Okposo tied it up at two while the clock was ticking down on the second period.

Okay, who wants this one?

sat 11:30 am: Per Art Staple in sunny FLA, Montoya in net and Pandolfo and Jurcina scratched for tonight.

Sat 9:01 am: Also, if you have never checked out the Isles Live Blog, you may want to before we have no games left. Good place to yap in real time. http://islanders.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=623296

Sat 7:30 am: Oh, a few other things. The game in Brooklyn. So this may be one of those "If you build it, they will come" sort of thing. The Barclay's Center would love another tennant, even if it won't be really perfect for hockey.

The Brooklyn Borough President has been thumping for the Isles to move to Brooklyn for a few years now. So, now people get to put their money where their mouth is.

Tickets to the New York Islanders-New Jersey Devils game at Barclays Center will go on sale Thursday, March 29 at 10 a.m. Tickets will be available through Ticketmaster by visiting www.barclayscenter.com or www.ticketmaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.

The preseason game, scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012 at 7:30 p.m., will mark the first sporting event at Barclays Center, the new major sports and entertainment venue at the intersection of Atlantic and Flatbush avenues in Brooklyn. Located atop one of the largest transportation hubs in New York City, Barclays Center will be accessible by 11 subway lines and the Long Island Rail Road.

That is, of course, if the season actually starts on time barring any new CBA problems. Ahem.

Also, I found this in this morning's Newsday on page A12. "Asbestos in Coliseum Analyzed." Well, okay then. All older buildings have asbestos so it's really not a sensational headline. But the sentence that struck me like a knife is the following:

Nassau County has previously acknowledged that the arena, which opened in 1972, contains asbestos within its walls, but the issue surfaced again this week when an attorney who represents some of teh Coliseum workers spoke with NBC News 4.

Um, holy lawsuit Batman. Now, of course this is the County and the building's OWNER, SMG's problem. Not the Islanders' problem. But any findings can cause delays or problems for the tenants.

Maybe they'll be playing more than ONE game in Brooklyn next season if they have to start ripping out walls. And seriously -- who will pay for that.

It just keeps getting worse.

Fri 10 pm:

So if you haven't actually seen Evgeni's post contract interview, take a look. Yes, you've read the quotes, but the Russian Bear (as his team mates have called him on Twitter) deals with the media the same way win, lose or contract extension. He did, however, say all the right things and coming from a man who was reluctant to report to the Isles at first, he's in no hurry to leave it.

What does that say about the Islanders? It says that perhaps the reports of them being poorly managed and not a place that talented players want to be is in fact -- wrong. But don't let the facts stand in the way of opinion to the contrary.

Islanders management is perpetually criticised. You would think if they were so bad to deal with then the likes of well respected Doug Weight would not want to stick around the way he has.

Actually, while you may think it's just being politically correct that keeps players from speaking their mind about how they were treated, maybe it's just that they're treated well to begin with.

Last time the Isles were in Florida, Brendan Witt (you know, the guy who had his career killed by the Isles) took in the game with Garth Snow. Where are the photos of that meeting? No really. I would have like to see them. Witt cleans up nicely. I would have liked to see him.

The Isles have their issues, but they're heading in the right direction. So....

While the Islanders are in Florida they will play back to back games in the heat. Tomorrow against the Bolts who have only two more points than the Isles. Sorry Stevie Y, looks like you're not making the playoffs either. Then on Sunday the Isles face the Panthers who have 85 points, top the SouthEast Division and just lost in the shoot-out to Edmonton.

On Tuesday, March 27th, the Isles will be hosting another viewing party. This time at Jake's steakhouse in East Meadow. If you haven't been to one of these viewing parties, you should attempt to make it. They are always fun and a good way to meet other Islander fans who feel the same way you do. And since they're facing the Penguins on Tuesday, misery may certainly love the company.

But first -- Let's get by the guys from the Sunshine state.
