Pretty good stuff tonight from Jaromir Jagr, who addressed the issue of how the Flyers always give up the game's first goal.

Tonight it happened for at least the sixth time this season during a 2-1 shootout win against Washington.

Jagr has been suggesting that the team allow Sergei Bobrovsky to start the game, take the first shot, then put Ilya Bryzgalov in.

“Well, if you don't count the first shot for sure,” Jagr quipped. “It would be a shutout again, right?

“I had a good idea. Put Bob in the net. But nobody listened to me. It's time to do it.”

Coach Peter Laviolette allowed himself a smile in his post-game presser when asked about Jagr's idea.

“I’ve learned if I comment on something, there’s an article about it,” the coach said. “I’m gonna keep my mouth shut from now on.”

Here's Jagr's post-game comments, in full, courtesy of the Flyers:

on confidence in shootouts:

It's a lot better than before. Bryz is stopping the puck. That's a good sign. And at least we've got one guy who can score.

bryz best goalie in game now?

Well, if you don't count the first shot for sure. It would be a shutout again, right?

6th time first-shot goal against:

I had a good idea. Put Bob in the net. But nobody listened to me. It's time to do it.

It's bad luck for us. we had a stretch where every first shot went in. the last three weeks it didn't happen and it was a lot easier to win the games. Today it happened again. We have to figure it out somehow. It would be a lot easier game. You come to the game, you're losing already 1-0. It's not easy in this league.

on adjustments after falling behind:

We just didn't play our game in the first 10 minutes. After 10 minutes we started cycling the puck. I don't know. Maybe we're just waiting how other teams are going to play when we should be more in control.

coach dismissed sacrificing a chicken before game to break the first-goal spell:

tell him to be positive after first shot. That's a big test for him. i know it's not easy. I'm not going to bring my chicken, that's for sure.
