Myers suspended three games by NHL

Shanahan used three key criteria:

1). Boarding
2). Injury
3). No Prior History

Myers did not avoid boarding Gomez, who was injured on the play. Myers has never been fined of suspended.

Brayden McNabb better get his butt to Buffalo now. He'll be in the lineup for the upcoming Colorado, Florida, and Tampa games.

Let me clear my throat....

Myers gets 3 games for a boarding that caused an injury. No penalty was called on the ice on the play. It was Myers' first offense.

On Sunday afternoon, Geno Malkin boarded Johnny Boychuk, causing an injury to the Bruins D man. Malkin was assessed a minor for boarding. However, Malkin receives no supplemental discipline for this beauty of a boarding call.

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

How about this chicken sh*t hit by Bourdon on Gerbe?

The Buffalo forward missed six weeks with a concussion. No suspension for Bourdon. Tough luck, Gerbs.

My two cents:

Shanahan's lack of consistency is a pile of crap.

Mix in some objectivity and integrity, Shanny.

Your Ipod-on-shuffle discipline standards leave a lot to be desired.

Joke that Malkinand Bourdon get to skate and Myers has to sit three games.

Garbage!

As of 6:30pm EDT, Brendan Shanahan has yet to pass down his verdict on whether of not Tyler Myers will be suspended for his hit from behind on Scott Gomez.

Myers had his phone hearing with Shanahan at 1pm EDT on Tuesday.

The question now is whether Myers intended to hit his opponent from behind.

Today, after practice, Lindy ruff defended Myers by saying that he felt like Gomez turned his skates and body at the last second, causing Myers to have to make a quick change in direction. Myers, according to Ruff, did a good job of staying low and keeping his hang-glider wings and his sharp elbows away from Gomez's head.

Ruff says that Myers is in a "tough spot because he's such a big man".

The coach doesn't see any reason to believe that this incident with change the physical style of play that Myers has been bringing to the Buffalo back end ever since he returned from his arm injury in January.

Here's Ruff's take:
