SCOUTING REPORT:
At a time of year when all games are big, this one looms even larger for the Hawks: measuring stick, tone-setter, payback, all of the above.
After dropping a decision to the Blues in their first meeting of the year, the Hawks put a pretty solid beating on St. Louis in their building in their next meeting.
That’s what’s called for here.
Last week at Scottrade, the Blues not only soundly beat the Blackhawks, they physically humiliated them. Therefore, the Blackhawks, both to send a message to a possible playoff rival and maybe more importantly to themselves, must play a hard, physical 60 minutes.
Getting a point or preferably two out of this game wouldn’t hurt the Hawks’ playoff hopes either, before heading into Dallas Friday night.
