You knew that it was only a matter of time before Thomas Vanek would awaken from his lumber slumber.

With the game tied 1-1 in early stages of the second period, Vanek's PPG (from Pommer and Ehrhoff) gave the Sabres the lead.




The goal snaps Vanek's seven game goal-less streak. Couldn't have come at a better, more opportune time. Pominville's assist was his first point in seven games.



Here's the Myers goal that tied the game.





LaRose would tie the game at 2 moments after the Kaleta goal.

Ryan Miller and Cam Ward led their respective teams out onto the ice.

Warm-ups started six minutes ago.

Six D are on the ice, including Alex Sulzer. Andrej Sekera is not on the ice.

Sekera skated this morning.

Update: Sekera is suffereing from flus.-like symptom
