Rest Miller? Or, Ride Him?

I'd give the Sabre an A+ grade for their recent 3-1-1 road trip.

7 outta 10 points is a nice haul for the team. If you'd have told the populous of Pegulaville last Monday on trade deadline day that the team would have won 3 of 4, after they subtracted Paul Gaustad, you would have beento asked to submit a drug test.

The team has been playing superbly for the past six weeks, and is showing renewed vigor and determination to make a serious run to the eighth seed. Monday night was only a hiccup.

Tonight, the Sabres need the Sens, Bruins and Canes to win.

On Monday night in Winningpeg, the Jets presented the only speed bump for the Sabres on the final night of the trip. Running a "hard hockey" gauntlet against the Rangers, Ducks, Sharks, Canucks and Jets in six nights is enough to deplete any NHL squad. Its understandable that the Sabres were leaking oil in period three in The Peg. They were in that game for forty seven minutes, then, they started to sputter. The Jets sat in limbo for four days awaiting the arrival of the road weary Sabres and it proved to be their recipe for success on Monday night.

Ryan Miller was brilliant on the trip, to say noithing of the last six weeks. He is deserving of a game off.

The team touched down in Buffalo after 2pm EDT on Tuesday. No skating or time at the rink until the Wednesday morning game day skate for the Carloina Hurricanes game.

No time to rest, either. After the Canes game, the Sabres will jet to hostile Boston for a Thursday night brawl. They play the Sens in Ottawa on Saturday night.

Begs the question:

Will Lindy rest Ryan Miller for the Hurricanes game?

Look at the guy's face and listen to his tonal inflection. He appears to be physically and mentally spent. He played his ass off on the recent road and has started 19 of the last 20 games for the Sabres. He needs a break.

thanks, sabres.com

Not to look past the Canes, but, the tasty subplot to the Bruins game is that Miller has beaten his arch rivals twice n the past month. The Chowd fans want a piece of Miller. They want to jeer him and ride him, just like the Jets fans did on Monday night.
