(Welcome to the TD Garden for tonight's game between the Boston Bruins and visiting Ottawa Senators.)

There's just one player in Boston remaining from the last time Brian Rolston suited up as a member of the Black-and-Gold -- second line center Patrice Bergeron -- which is part of the nostalgic feel that comes with a return to the Hub for the 39-year-old forward. Not much is expected out of the veteran, who'll center Boston's third line to begin the night, but he'll find himself in action tonight along with fellow Islander-turned-Bruin Mike Mottau, who finds himself skating on Boston's third defensive pairing tonight.

But that's not the biggest story of the night, as Kyle Turris and the Senators return to town after a Saturday night affair that left the B's a bit angry with the second place Sens. While fireworks should fly given the non-suspension to Turris, both teams beefed up their lineups up in anticipation, as both Zenon Konopka and Shawn Thornton return to play.

In net, Tim Thomas looks for career win No. 24 against the Sens in start No. 34. Looking to extend his personal win streak to three games, Thomas comes to play with a .935 save-percentage in his career against Ottawa. He'll be countered by Robin Lehner, who stopped 28-of-30 in his last start, a victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday.

First Period

18:30 - Rolston out for his first shift. Nice little round of applause for the 39-year-old.

17:40 - Boston captain Zdeno Chara lays the boom on Erik Condra. Surprised to see the officials' hands stay down on that hit.

14:00 - Brad Marchand with a brutal giveaway but Thomas saves his bacon with a big stop on Condra.

10:19 - Welcome back, Brian. Boston's going on the penalty kill after Rolston gets whistled for tripping Erik Karlsson. Crowd doesn't like it, and neither does No. 12.

7:46 - Boston's Brad Marchand is the first to go at Turris, bumping him after the whistle. The B's agitator has some words for the Ottawa forward as they make their way off.

6:54 - Interference on Tyler Seguin, and Boston's going back on the penalty-kill.

5:16 - Karlsson strikes! Daniel Alfredsson does a great job screening Thomas on that one, and it's 1-0 Sens. Nice guy, that Alfredsson, who gave Thomas' stick back to him after the goal.

3:04 - Bruins getting a crack on the power-play now. Nick Foligno to the box.

1:30 - One of the worst periods of the year for Seguin. Looks completely disengaged out there.

Thoughts after 20...

Yikes, the Bruins must've thought this one had a 7:30 start with the way they played. A sleepy looking group of B's put forth just seven shots on net, making life way too easy for the inexperienced Lehner.

I see things getting nasty here at the Garden by the second period, but Boston can't make trips to the sin-bin, the Sens' first unit is too potent.

Second Period

14:22 - Neil and Thornton are gonna fight -- no they're not. Thornton drops the gloves, but Neil does not oblige. No penalties coming out of this.

13:30 - Ottawa's got a stranglehold on the shot advantage, outshooting Boston 20-to-9 through nearly 30 minutes of play.

10:30 - Condra bein' Condra. Has a wide open cage, but misses it. That's somewhat embarrassing, huh?

9:58 - Huge flurry in front of Thomas -- headlined by Turris practically laying on TT30 -- but there's nothin' doing for the Sens. No. 7 in white seems intent on making Boston hate him.

7:21 - Milan Lucic -- already going to the box for slashing Karlsson -- shoves Alfredsson, and then freight-trains Turris. Call it a triple play, Boston. Either way, he'll sit for two, and he's lucky it's just two.

5:00 - B's kill off the penalty, but this one is getting physical. Lots o' tension in the building.

0.0 - Period ends with a scrum -- to the shock of nobody.

Second Period

How do you make a kid with just 10 games of NHL experience look like the second coming of Patrick Roy? Fire just 15 shots on him through the first two periods. If not for the efforts of Thomas -- who's stopped 30 of 31 through two periods of play -- the Bruins are down big-time. For Boston, it's time to hit the alarm clock and wake up.

Third Period

18:00 - Couple of early chances for the Bruins, but nothing doing. Marchand misses the net on a backhander.

14:47 - Bruins going on the power-play here. Condra gets the gate for holding the stick.

12:36 - Lehner with a sweet glove-save off a Benoit Pouliot tip. His 19th save of the night.

10:45 - Thomas with a great sequence of stops.

10:23 - Foligno heading off for tripping Pouliot.

9:06 - Lehner with a big stop, great sequence by the Bruins. Passing all around. Nothing doin' though in terms of great chances.

8:03 - No dice for the Boston power-play.

4:35 - The good news: The Bruins have out-shot the Sens 13 to 7 in the period. The bad news: Shots are not goals. Lehner holding the fort here late in the third.

2:25 - Pouliot looks to get high-sticked, no call. Fans irate.

2:09 - Power-play on the way. Sergei Gonchar trips Chara up with his stick. Looked like a bit of an embellishment from No. 33, but the B's will take anything they can get. Hooking is the call.

0.0 - B's can't convert. Sens win, 1-0.
