Derek Roy just stood in the pocket and answered many tough questions regarding his future with the Buffalo Sabres. I give Roy credit for his cool, calm demeanor, and grace under pressure.

"I don't have anything to say.... this is my team right now".

TSN's Trade Centre is on the TV in the locker room, and Roy admits that he hears the speculation.

"Yeah, some guys have it on.. its basically out of my hands what happens".

Ry was emphatic when asked if he wants to stay in Buffalo.

"I want to stay here 100%. This is my team. I'm excited to be here. I like playing with these guys and I want to make a run at it".

When asked Roy if he is flattered that his name is one of the most popular ones that are available on this trade deadline day, Roy responded.

"I don't really care about other teams right now. I don't care what they think about me. I care about the next game is Wednesday".

Roy added:

"I have some unfinished business here. I haven't won a championship yet. Thats my goal from the start... I want to win a Stanley Cup here. Obviously, I want to stay here for as long as I can to achieve my goal".

Roy says that he has not spoken with his agent today.

" No. No idea. Me and my agent have a weird relationship, we don't talk too much. He told me I'm his biggest "no fuss clients". when he calls, its something serious.

Question now is, WHEN will his agent call him next? Today?

Ryan Miller was steadfast in his opinion taht he's not okay with making trades just to make trades

"We’re all kind of waiting to see what’s going on," Miller said.

"As you can see, there’s not a lot of movement in the league right now because honestly there’s a lot of parity and there’s a lot of teams that feel they’re really close, and you don’t just scrap everything every time something’s not going your way. You try and build up to something."

****

Miller says its best to plan the work and work the plan.

"I don’t think we scrap an entire project. I think the fans have to realize that sets you back years. What we’re looking for is the right tweaks and the right adjustments. That doesn’t come from just throwing everybody out the window."

Good morning.

I'm at First Niagara Center. The Sabres jumped on the ice at 11:20. Practice started at 11:30.

I see Paul Gaustad, Derek Roy and Jordan Leopold here right now.

All healthy players are present and accounted for. Brad Boyes is on the ice now too.

The team will skate, then will jet off to Southern California at 4pm this afternoon.
