I just left the First Niagara Center, where Bruins comedian-turned-NHL hack, Brad Marchand, had to answer the bell for the disparaging comments that he made about the city of Buffalo on Boston's WEEI radio this morning.

"Buffalo is the worst place in the NHL," Marchand jabbed. "I’m not too excited to go there, but I’ll be excited to leave."

That Marchie is such a cut-up. Always beaking about something.

I was late to the scrum, however, John Vogl of the Buffalo News caught Marchand's mea culpa in its entirety.

"It’s always cold and usually rainy when we come here, and I was just playing around," Marchand said in First Niagara Center. "I hope I didn’t offend anyone.

"The people here have always been very friendly and very nice. That was by no means a shot at them. They’re great people. I was just joking around."

Wonder if Joffrey Lupul and Giselle's husband will be pissed at Marchand for infringing on their Buffalo bashing turf.

Its winter time in the Northeast, jackass. Of course its cold. Sorry Buffalo insn't 68 and sunny year round like Chowd Nation is.

"I heard it was a little cold in Buffalo, and I’m allergic to the cold," said Marchand, a native of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

"Like I said, it’s a little cold here. There’s not a ton to do. You come and just kind of hang around in the hotel. [Teammate Daniel Paille, a former Sabres forward] spoke very highly of it, especially in the summertime, so I’m sure it’s great. There’s nothing around so I don’t know a whole lot about the city."

Marchand knows that his boss, Jeremy Jacobs, owns and operates the Delaware North Companies, right??! Founded by his father, Delaware North is a global hospitality and food service business headquartered in Buffalo, N.Y. It is one of the largest privately held companies in North America. The company operates in the lodging, sporting, airport, gaming and entertainment industries. The company employs over 50,000 people worldwide and has over $2 billion in annual revenues.

The B's team doctor may want to write a script for meds to cure Marchand's case of diarrhea of the mouth and constipation of the brain.

Thanks to Ben Hayes and the fine folks at WGRZ.

***
Sabres fanatics want to send Marchand, Lucic, Chara, Thornton slithering back to Hell...errr.. Boston with a big fat "L".
