Looks like Eastern Conference out on Nash. For now...(+Carter Combo?)

While this is a constantly shifting landscape, for now at least the teams in the Eastern Conference who have been the most connected to Rick Nash have all walked away from the Nash sweepstakes...

As has been the case since day 1, the Kings are the leading candidate, and for now the Canucks and Sharks are both in this game still.

Sources tell me the Jackets are looking for a minimum of three players and a first round pick. One of those players needs to be a current NHL impact player. That is a bit of a shift from what was believed to be two current players previously.

There is a possibility that the price tag could shift if a team is willing to take on another big salary from Columbus, although it appears Jeff Carter may be the more likely to have a player like Huselius attached.

Of course, as always, who knows if NY, Toronto, or Philly will get back into the hunt over the next week...
