Can't remember the last time I saw someone score a goal and drop the gloves as a form of celebration but that's what Scott Hartnell did against Toronto on Thursday.

Here's player reaction from the Flyers 4-3 victory:

Scott Hartnell

Q: What happened at the end of the goal there, you ended up getting in a fight?

We were battling I think for the first couple shifts and I kind of was going behind the net one time and I don't know if he pushed me or I caught an edge, I don't know what happened. I went off the boards and my neck was in kind of an awkward position and I thought it was somewhat of a cheap play. Then I get lucky bouncing like that in the air and it went in the net and I just went right off it. Just pretty standard, someone does something to you cheap, slashes, cheap plays like that you have to stand up for yourself, and he did.

Q: So no carry over from the "Suck it, Phaneuf" back at the All-Star game?

No, that was all in good fun. That All-Star game was pretty, you know, it was a great weekend. I heard the Twitter world loved it after we went out of there. Little things like that are fun of the game.

Q: You get your assist to get the Gordie Howe there, your second one in two years, does that mean anything to you at all?

Yes, it's pretty cool. It doesn't show up in the stats or anything like that. It was what counts is we got two points tonight. I think the rangers won in over time tonight and teams are winning behind us. We wanted to put some separation in-between us and the maple leafs tonight. We play a couple more games in Toronto, so every night is going to be a battle.

Brayden Schenn has two goals in three games and seems like a player who have been reborn in the second half, now that he is fully recovered from a concussion and isn't being bothered by other injuries.

Brayden Schenn:

Q: On scoring chances

“I think after last game, we got shut out, we had chances and things weren’t going in for us. And tonight kind of the same thing, but they were going in. Good to see guys get rewarded and I guess we can build off it now.”

Q: What’s your reaction when you see Hartnell get a goal and then all of a sudden gloves are off and throwing fists there?

“It’s awesome. He’s playing all areas of the game right now. He’s playing well for us, pretty funny, pretty cool, to see a guy score a goal and somebody drop the gloves.”

Q: Brayden, extra satisfaction to score with your brother [Luke] on the ice?

“It’s always nice to score. I guess with him being out there, I guess it’s nice to rub one in I guess. Like I said before it’s just always nice scoring though.”

Q: Did he say anything to you after that?

“No, not really. No talk out there, we were just going about our business out there.”

Q: Nice to keep this losing streak a short one…

“Yeah, you don’t want - especially late in the season, you don’t want to go too long obviously. Every team is fighting for their lives. It’s good to get two points tonight.”

Q: Do you feel more comfortable out there – you have four goals now in seven games – do you feel more comfortable that you’re playing more?

“Yeah, I try to get Giroux to feel more comfortable. Getting a good opportunity, just trying to go out there and make the most of it.”
