It hasn't been easy writing about Chris Pronger when A) we never see him; B) we never hear from him.

Today, Pronger dropped by Skate Zone unexpectedly to see teammates for the first time since the club's Christmas Party.

From the players I talked to, the visit was therapeutic for themselves, as well as Pronger. He did not speak to the media.

What I found interesting was that most players had a tough time gauging how they thought Pronger looked - upbeat, down, etc.

What did come through, however, is that he is no better than he was two months ago in terms of his post-concussion syndrome.

One quote from Scott Hartnell said it all when I asked him whether there was anything the FLyers players could do to make it easier on Pronger:

“We had some people over for the Super Bowl at my place and I texted him and said, ‘if you can make it, be great to see you. I’m sure the boys would love to see you if you feel good’," Hartnell told me.

“He wrote back right away he had a few good days and had some headaches today and ‘I’ll pass but be around next week’. I can’t imagine what he is going through. It’s probably been the worst few months of his life.”
