Classic misinformation in the internet era.

I received an email from a source in Canada this morning saying he had heard rumors of a deal sending Senators' defenseman Brian Lee to the Blackhawks. And, in fact, the possibility of such a deal was apparently discussed this morning in the Canadian media.

There were no internet reports as such, but lo and behold, a 27 year old American defenseman named "Brian Lee" was listed as property of the Chicago Blackhawks by at least two media outlets.

The Sens' Lee also fits a lot of the criteria the Hawks are looking for (low salary, RFA this summer) and they dealt for a similar type of player (Chris Campoli) with Ottawa last year.

On that basis, I decided to go out with this as a rumor of an impending deal.

Turns out, the Brian Lee listed as Hawk property is a different Brian Lee, and there is likely nothing more than media speculation to this.

If so, take it as such, and my bad for the other confusion.
