Resiliency was certainly on display in Dallas, from both teams in the Predators 6-3 loss to the Stars last night at American Airlines Arena. After another first period meltdown, the Predators found themselves in an 0-3 hole that they slowly began to crawl out of in the second period. However, the Preds weren’t playing Columbus, and the Stars made sure to answer each comeback attempt with a goal.
The Christmas break begins with the Predators alone at 8th in the Western Conference, one point behind Dallas, three points behind Detroit… the Predator’s Boxing Day opponent at Bridgestone Arena. Nashville then takes on Minnesota at home on the 28th before closing out 2011 in St. Louis on December 30th. Three conference opponents, two inside the Central Division makes this upcoming segment of the schedule a critical one. Detroit will be out for blood after their December 15th loss at the hands of the Predators, as will the Blues.

Random Notes
- The Predator’s power play continues to be incredibly hot… it is now the second ranked PP in the league, converting at a 22.5% rate
- On the flip side… the Predators usually excellent penalty kill is mired in 24th place, at an 80.3% kill rate. This has to get fixed.
- Glad to hear that the Winter Classic alumni game will be on Versus, Saturday 12/31 at 1pm.
- Pittsburgh threw everything but the kitchen sink at Winnipeg last night, and finally broke out in third period for three goals, handing the Jets a rare home loss 4-1.
