Practice has ended, and according to Lindy Ruff, Thomas Vanek was given the day off for rest and recovery. Paul Szczechura did not skate with the team, however, he is still with Buffalo in Toronto. He was given a maintenance day.
Pat Kaleta will most likely play in Toronto, while Brad Boyes likely will not.
The Sabres lineup could use an injection of testosterone, piss-n-vinegar.

Derek Whitmore is running the left Vanek's wing, alongside Roy and Pominville.
Marcus Foligno was sent back to Rochester.
"Chewie" isn't on the ice now. I would not be surprised if he was sent back to Rochester after he committed the ugly turnover that eventually ended up in Ryan Miller's net for the game winning goal in Ottawa.

Last Friday night, Dion Phaneuf gave Zack Kassian the gift of a hit from behind. The refs then reciprocated with a 5, 10 and a game misconduct.
The hit was not reviewed. No suspension.
Tomorrow night in Toronto, Kassian has the opportunity to return the present.

Been wondering what's become of the hockey career of Mike Zigomanis?
You remember Zigomanis, right? He was selected by Buffalo Sabres in the second round (64th overall) of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, but was unable to come to a contract agreement with the team. He re-entered the draft and was selected 46th overall by Carolina Hurricanes in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft
He's a journeyman's journeyman, having bumped around the NHL in Carolina, Phoenix, St. Louis and Pittsburgh. He's ridden hundreds of thousands of miles on buses to and from AHL rinks.
Zigomanis has been a key cog in the Toronto Marlies organization.
On Tuesday, Zigomanis became a hot trending topic Twitter, when the Toronto Sun revealed in a front page story that naked photos of the hockey player had been leaked onto the internet by a jilted ex-lover.
Mike Zigomanis is well-known for stick-handling on the ice, but now the ex-Leafs player has grabbed the spotlight for an alleged appearance on a revenge porn website.
Nude photos purporting to be of the 30-year-old Marlies centre recently surfaced on the website, isanyoneup.com. The listing links to Zigomanis’ personal Facebook page.
The website acts as a forum for jilted ex-girlfriends or former lovers to anonymously splash naked pictures of their one-time partners — outing them by full name through a screenshot of their Facebook profile.
“Ziggy assures us that the clothed photos are of him, and were purloined off his Facebook account,” Leafs general manager Brian Burke said in an e-mail to the Toronto Sun. “He also assures us that the nude photos are not of him. He has retained a lawyer to help him put an end to this.”
Burke said he became aware of this issue “some time ago” in October, when the photos first surfaced on the site. He declined to give the name of the lawyer Zigomanis has hired.
On the website, following his Facebook profile screenshot, there is a photo of the dark-haired hockey star standing in a closet, followed by two action shots of him playing in a Leafs jersey and hoisting the Stanley Cup in 2009 when he played for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Then come the money shots.
There is a photo of a man’s backside taken with a phone camera and then a full frontal picture. Both the nude photos are shot from the shoulder down, so a face is not visible.
Zigomanis did not return multiple requests through Facebook and Twitter for comment.
Somewhere right now, former Leaf crank-shot artist, Jiri Tlusty laughs aloud.
I don't know what's more embarrassing and demoralizing for Zigomanis:
A). Getting exposed on the internet-- allegedly--- or...
B). Getting stoned by a pudgy, washed-up, wannabe pro goalie, who also doubles as the owner of Cheetah Power Surge, Frank DeAngelo.
