PREVIEW 6:30 AM CST

Looking to extend their current winning streak to 3 straight games, the Stars (17-11-1) continue the East Coast leg of their road trip tonight in Uniondale, NY, where they will take on the New York Islanders (9-13-6). The game starts at 6 PM CST (7 PM EST) and will be broadcast locally on Fox Sports Southwest.

The game marks the second and final meeting between the clubs this season. On Dec. 3, the Islanders came into Dallas and downed the Stars, 5-4.

In the match in Dallas, Matt Moulson was a one-man wrecking crew for the Isles, potting rebounds at will en route to scoring four goals. The Stars battled back from deficits of 3-0 and 4-3 but, ultimately, poor defense and mediocre goaltending by Andrew Raycroft proved too much to overcome. Al Montoya earned the win in relief of a shaky Ricky DiPietro, who left the game with an injury after two periods.

The game was also notable for an incident in which Stars' defenseman Mark Fistric ultimately received a three-game suspension from the NHL for leaving his feet to deliver a hit to New York's Nino Niederreiter. Fistric, who may or may not be in the lineup tonight, served the final game of the suspension on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Niederreiter remains out of the Islanders' lineup with a concussion as a result of the play.

The big story of the Stars' most recent two games has been the play of rookie goalie Richard Bachman. With Kari Lehtonen still sidelined with a groin pull and Raycroft struggling, Bachman has stepped up to limit the LA Kings to a single goal in a 2-1 win and the shut out the Rangers, 1-0. Meanwhile, defenseman Trevor Daley (who recently returned from a back injury) has scored key goals for Dallas in each of the last two wins.

The Islanders appeared to be back on the right track after a horrid month of November (the club is 4-3-3 over it last 10). However, the team brings a two-game losing streak into tonight's tilt. PA Parenteau has been the team's hottest offensive player of late, compiling 10 points (1G, 9A) over the last 8 games.
