Between games, injuries and players being recalled from Albany it's been quite an eventful week for the New Jersey Devils. Here's the latest.

- As many of you know by now, Andy Greene is out four weeks with a fracture in one of his toes. This is a big loss for the Devils in my opinion as he has been pretty solid for the most part this season. Some fans like to get on him at times but it's worth noting that he and Adam Henrique are the only Devils with a plus or even rating who have played more than five games.

Greene, who signed a three-year extension in the off-season, has nine assists and an even rating in 23 games this season.

- Anton Volchenkov and Bryce Salvador are also a little banged up on the back end. With those two banged up and Greene expected to miss the next four weeks with his toe fracture the Devils have recalled Alexander Urbom and Matt Taormina from the Albany Devils.

Urbom, 20, has six points and a +6 rating in 21 games with Albany while Taormina has 12 points and a +2 rating in 23 games.

- I was covering the Barrie Colts / Owen Sound Attack game last night and apparently I missed a heck of a game. While it's obviously not good that the Devils were down 3-0, it's great news to hear them be able to come back and win the game. It was a big win for them.

- Tom Gulitti is reporting that Martin Brodeur will start tomorrow against the Montreal Canadiens. He's usually pretty good against them so hopefully he can bounce back. The Devils need more consistency from Brodeur and quick or they will have to lean heavily on Johan Hedberg.

- My last note is on the Devils top line of Ilya Kovalchuk, Zach Parise and Adam Henrique. They've been playing fantastic hockey as of late and it's showing in terms of statistics. Parise and Kovalchuk , who has scored four goals in his last five games, are now on six game point streaks while Henrique is on a seven game point streak. It's nice to see the top line, Parise and Kovalchuk in particular, producing as they should.
