Justice for Nino

Mark Fistric gets three games while Nino still continues to get a seat in the press box.

According to Art Staple, both Nino Niederreiter and Rick DiPietro did NOT skate today during the Isles practice while Nabokov and Grabner did. At last night's game, Nino was seen with the other Islander players on IR in the owner's box. From there, they watched their team mates earn another two points over a struggling Tampa team.

While I am very happy that Mr. Shanahan and the Department of player safety deemed the hit "illegal" and while no on-ice penalty was called, felt that suplemental discipline was justified, I would be happier if we had a time table for Nino's return to the ice.

After practice today, Islander players brought all those toys they shopped for last week to local hospitals. They will get set to face the Blackhawks tomorrow. Could we see the return of Bridgeport's Kevin Poulin to the Coliseum ice? Or will Jack ride the hot hand in Al Montoya?

Decisions, Decisions!
