The great debate. Should there be illegal defense in hockey?

This past week the Tampa Bay Lightning fell under much scrutiny for the 1-3-1 (really, more of a 0-4-1) defense they showed against the Philadelphia Flyers on national television.

What do you think? Should there be an illegal defense and hockey? Should teams be penalized for not pushing the puck forward?

Is there any reason a coach should feel that he needs to make his team play exciting hockey? Should, as was reported, television executives call the NHL concerned about boring play?

What do you think?

I will be back with a rumor blog this evening.
