MINI-PREVIEW 6:45 AM CST

The Stars (11-4-0) will not have much time to dwell on last night's disappointment in Pittsburgh. They are right back in action tonight, traveling to Detroit to take on a Red Wings (8-5-1) team that has been inconsistent thus far but remains a measuring stick opponent. The game starts at 6 PM CST and will be broadcast locally on TXA-21.

This is the first of four meetings between the Stars and Red Wings this season. Last year, Dallas captured three of the four games. Detroit enters this game coming off a 3-0 shutout win over Edmonton last night. The Stars took a 1-0 lead in Pittsburgh last night on Eric Nystrom's fifth goal of the season (he has scored in four straight games) but were largely outplayed for much of the game, and the final 3-1 outcome was reflective of which team played the better game.

There appears to be a good chance that Andrew Raycroft will get the start in goal tonight, with the Stars playing on back-to-back nights.

I will post my thoughts on both the Pittsburgh and Detroit games in tomorrow's Star Gazing blog.
