Undrafted a year ago, the five-foot-eleven native of Wallaceburg is off to a hot start with the London Knights. With twelve goals and eleven assists in eighteen games, Griffith is leading the top ranked Knights as they continue their winning ways.

Many were surprised by the fact he went by the wayside at the 2010 draft after a 62 point season last year (in 68 games).

Known for his ability to play in all situations, especially on the penalty kill, Griffith has been asked to do it all in London and has really shined. It's never a shock to fans when the undersized forward does score, almost at seeming will this season.

Going undrafted last year, what is the feeling for yourself this year?

“Obviously, I was disappointed in myself; that was my goal last year. My long term goal is to make the NHL, so it doesn't matter how, as long as I do.”

What changed from last year to this? Things seem to be going a lot better.

“I think I gained a lot of confidence playing a lot last year. The coaches have a lot of confidence in me, so I think that helps you out when the coaches and players have that confidence in you.”

Anyone in the Knights dressing room that has really helped you in the process?

“Everyone helps each other out. Nobody more than any others. I talked to Knighter (Jared Knight) a lot last year about the draft process and how it works, and even Houser who didn't get drafted.”

What's your goal for this year?

“Obviously we rank number one, so our goal and everyone's goal is to win the Memorial Cup this year.”

Scouts are in the building a lot, obviously. Any pressure on yourself?

“There's pressure, but seeing as my draft year passed, I'm just trying to prove I should have been drafted.”
