Random Notes
- Good news from practice yesterday as both Sergei Kostitsyn and Mike Fisher took part in an abbreviated session. Full practice today, 10:30am at Centennial Sportsplex.
- I’ve been asked to comment on the cover story of the Nov. 7 Hockey News… I completely reject the premise of the story and refuse to publicize typical THN Nashville bashing… that is all.
- David Poile got hammered for including Cody Franson in the trade that sent Matthew Lombardi to Toronto. Franson is a -4 in three games and has settled into perma-scratch territory.
- Anaheim’s road trip from hell continues as they snatched defeat from the jaws of victory last night, blowing a three goal lead and losing their third straight.
- Another playoff rematch tonight on Versus as Buffalo and Philly renew acquaintances. No love lost between these two teams.
- I’m the furthest thing from a Rangers fan, but there’s a part of me that would like to see a Rangers/Sharks final… just to hear John Torterella and Joe Thornton yap at each other.
- Detroit managed to get a point last night, but can’t be happy in how they earned it. This team is showing some nasty habits right now, and giving up late leads is one of them. To add injury to insult, it is believed that newly extended Niklas Kronwall was injured on the last play of the game.
