After what feels like an eternity, the Avs are finally back and ready to play hockey.

Before they can do that, however, they must raise the jersey of Peter Forsberg to the rafters. After so many months the fans can revel in Peter the Great going up to rafters.

Now that the day is here, many may wonder “how should I celebrate Peter Forsberg day?”

Here are a few suggestions for ways that you, the fan, can celebrate:

1. Do everything in 21’s. Eat 21 Oreos with 21 glasses of milk, do pushups in sets of 21, run 21 miles (for the best results, do not do all of these at once.)

2. Walk in sets of 21 steps

3. Reset your odometer every 21 miles.

4. Do everything Swedish. Meatballs, cookies, nurses.

5. Talk in a Swedish accent, just for the fun of it.

6. Call everyone Peter, even if they are a girl.

7. Die your hair blonde, grow a goatee.

8. Shop at Ikea, it’s a great idea.

9. Do something truly heroic. Save a person from a tree, pull a cat from a burning building, take out a couple Red Wings fans. Any of these work. (Note: Hockeybuzz is not liable for any legal suits stemming from suggestions.)

10. Twist at least one of your ankles and, if possible, pull your groin.

11. Make a completely surprising and awesome entrance into a room, with your own theme music if possible.

12. Go to the library and look at all the books about Peter the Great. If they're not about Forsberg file them under "fiction."

13. Buy a Koenigsegg. Don't know what that is? Here, look.

14. While buying Koenigsegg, after shopping at Ikea, buy an ABBA album.

15. Read the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (in Swedish.)

16. Eat lots and lots of Swedish Fish. Not all of them have to be candy.

17. If you're in Denver, stop by Swedish Medical Center, perhaps to get something for your stomach after all the Oreos and Milk.

18. Play one of the games in the Battlefield series, made by Swedish developer Dice.

19. Find two small Stanley Cups and one gold medal to wear in his honor.

20. Have you meals prepared by the Swedish Chef.

21. Watch Forsberg have his number retired.
