Sunday Morning Notes…

- Stay tuned for an exciting announcement regarding SlapShot Radio… our fourth season promises to be the best ever as Pete Weber and I have some great stuff in store… We have some unique advertising specials that will bring your message to a wide audience for a very reasonable cost, contact me to get in on the action.

- First day on ice yesterday at Sportsplex, you could tell that the team was happy to be back on the ice, putting aside the offseason from hell and looking forward to following up last year’s second round playoff exit with a deeper run this year.

- Training camp is a great opportunity to separate the real NHL players from the “morning glories.” Lots of “along the boards” talk about Craig Smith and Ryan Ellis. The debate centering on if these two players need to go through Milwaukee or do they need to get started this season. General consensus? Get ‘em on the big team and see if they can hack it.

- Great showing for yesterday’s first on ice session, the stands were packed for the entire four and a half hours session.

- Hate hearing the news on Mike Fisher, although still hopeful to be back on the ice for opening night, his absence in camp provides and opening for another youngster.

- The naming of Chris Pronger as captain of the Philadelphia Flyers was one of those “duh!” moves. The obvious leader gets the C.

- If you thought the Shea Weber negotiation was a mess, the Drew Doughty / LA Kings situation is a disaster area.
