As reported by our friend JR Lind in the Nashville Post, the Predators are selling season tickets at a fairly brisk pace. Lind quotes COO Sean Henry that the team will exceed 10,000 full season ticket equivalents and that new season ticket sales are “double” where the team was before last season.

That kind of news is very good for the team, especially considering that all of the new corporate partnerships that were announced during last season will have a full year of revenue to book in this upcoming season.

That 10,000 threshold is an important one when it comes to single game tickets as well, more season tickets create a scarcity in single game tickets that drive fans to buy packages so they are not left out, which creates even more scarcity… it’s a vicious circle… and one the Predators will enjoy immensely.

Single game tickets will probably go on sale sometime in early September.

Random Notes

- josh Cooper is reporting that Martin Erat’s back is healed and that the forward is “excited for being healthy next season.” Check out the article at the Tennessean.

- Predators defenseman Francis Bouillon has had a rink named after him in recognition of his support and contributions to the Youth Sports Hochelaga.

- Watching the Ducks series on NHL network got me thinking… there’s a lot of change from last year’s roster… DUH!!! I hear you say… but just seeing the players that won’t be here in this upcoming season kinda slammed it home for me.

- Reports are out that Brett Lebda has cleared waivers… what happens next? Buyout or Milwaukee-bound? My thought? Get him a beer and buy his dog one too… :-) UPDATE - Lebda has been bought out... so much for my prognostication!

- Stop me if you’ve heard this one before… reports are coming out of Phoenix that there are two “unknown” parties interested in buying the ‘Yotes.

- Two more RFA blueliners are proving difficult to sign as LA is still struggling to sign Drew Doughty and Winnipeg is working to get Zack Bogosian signed as well. High times for d-men as each of them need to send thank you cards to Shea Weber.

- 36 days till training camp opens.
