In yesterday’s post I asked, how much is too much? Some great discussion in the thread, I thank everyone for their contribution. In that discussion, some other great questions were brought up. So let’s get another one started…

A lot of media are making the case that the Nashville Predators will not be able to afford to keep Shea Weber, Ryan Suter and Pekka Rinne. I disagree with that premise, however, for the sake of discussion, let’s ask this question…

Assume you can only keep two of the big three… Which two do you keep and why?

Discuss!

Random Notes

- Great take on the Weber arbitration front from David Boclair in today’s City Paper.

- There’s been no official confirmation, but it does appear that the Nashville Predators have put Brett Lebda on waivers.

- Speaking of nothing official… someone in Toronto is selling the “Matthew Lombardi is making progress” story hard. For Matt’s sake I hope it is true, but it does fly in the face of what we have been hearing…

- Bad news for the Blues as David Perron is still struggling in his recovery from a concussion he sustained in a November 4, 2010 tilt against the Sharks.

- I like the two-way deal Phoenix signed with forward Patrick O’Sullivan. Hard to use the word “journeyman” for a 26 year old, but it works for O’Sullivan, now joining his fifth NHL team. Plenty of upside on this one and Dave Tippett could be the coach to make this player work.

- So glad to see former Buffalo head coach Ted Nolan get behind the bench again, agreeing to coach the Latvian National team. The 1997 Jack Adams award winner is the first North American coach for the Latvians since 1939.

- Things seem to be spiraling downward in Columbus. Facing attendance pressures, a bad lease and more, the Blue Jackets are in discussions with the city to try and offset their losses with a portion of revenue generated by a casino. Yikes… really makes you wonder about the spending spree they went on.

- 38 days till training camp opens.
