First off, my bluetooth officially is broken, so my ear is burning up as I hold this radiating piece of piping hot plastic to my aching head. This can't be good for me. But what are a few years of your life if you can find out where Petr Prucha will go or what the Flames may do in the next 48 hours? The sacrifices I make for you people...
As the GMs go to Toronto, some updates on the rumor mill...
The Blues are trying to pry Petr Prucha out of the Rangers. The Rangers are desperate for defensive help and Eric Brewer is the name that looks to be going the other way. (e3)
The Sens are looking into "a cap space saving deal to free up room for something bigger." I am hearing that Conroy is the guy they are really targeting. (e2) although Morrison from Vancouver (e1) is also being mentioned.
The Flyers and Stars are both trying to offer up offensive help to Calgary for Robyn Regehr. The Flames like Jeff Carter and RJ Umberger from Philly and would want either plus a prospect, while the Flames would want from Dallas....well I haven't gotten the name yet. How about #88? Doubt it, but why oh why didn’t Calgary jump at him this summer?
The Flyers and Flames are also talking about a big deal as well involving Iginla. That has been confirmed to me by a very reliable source.
And the Sens and Flames are in conversation. It may be that Alfredsson gets moved to make space in Ottawa. I think Alfie is WAY too solid a player to be moved to create space, but that's just me.
Two other players to look at (I have been told one of them could be used for some defensive help) are Florida’s Josef Stumpel and Nathan Horton.
Meanwhile the Devils are dabbling as well. The team has also inquired about Eric Brewer. (e2)
This could be a fun week as we watch "GMs GONE WILD" in Toronto.
