Rob Parent and I put this list together for the Inquirer. See if you guys can come up with 16 more ...

Eight moves to hate...

1. Jan. 17, 1998: Pat Falloon, Vinny Prospal and 2nd round pick to Ottawa for Alexandre Daigle.

2. Aug. 20, 1997: Signs Tampa Bay’s Chris Gratton to Group II offer sheet, costing Flyers four compensation draft picks. Then trades Mikael Renberg and Karl Dykhuis to get the picks back, and pays Gratton a $9 million signing bonus.
Gratton never plays up to par and 16 months later is traded back to Tampa in a package that includes Renberg.

3. Aug. 2, 2005: After trading Justin Williams for Dany (cq) Markov in Jan. ‘04, Markov was traded to Nashville for a 3d round pick, leaving the Flyers vulnerable on the back end. Williams goes on to win a Cup in Carolina.

4. March 19, 2002: Trades top goalie prospect Maxime Ouellet and 1st, 2d and 3d round draft choices for Adam Oates. He doesn’t return the next season.

5. Jan. 16, 1990: Traded recently stripped captain Dave Poulin to Boston for Ken Linseman.

6. Dec. 16, 2003: Sends defensive prospect Jeff Woywitka, 1st and 3d round picks to Edmonton for Mike Comrie, who will last three months here.

7. July 7, 2000: Signs Kevin Stevens to a free agent contract. He winds up having substance abuse issues and is traded to Pittsburgh five months later.

8. Oct. 19, 1999: Signs Ulf Samuelsson to a free agent contract. He’s never healthy here.

Eight moves to appreciate...

1. Feb. 9, 1995: Trades Mark Recchi to Montreal for Eric Desjardins, John LeClair and Gilbert Dionne.

2. July 2, 2001: Signs Jeremy Roenick to a free agent contract.

3. Aug. 3, 2005: Signs Peter Forsberg to a free agent contract.

4. Feb. 7, 2003: Dumps Pavel Brendl and Bruno St. Jacques on Carolina for Sami Kapanen.[SIGNATURE]

5. July 3, 2004: Signs Mike Knuble to a free agent contract.

6. Aug. 20, 1997: Not the Chris Gratton signing, but for what the Flyers eventually get back " those four draft picks Tampa decides not to keep turn into Simon Gagne (1998), Maxime Ouellet (1999), Justin Williams (2000) and Jeff Woywitka (2001).

7. June 12, 2002: Trades Brian Boucher and 3d round pick to Phoenix for Michal Handzus and Robert Esche.

8. May 28, 2003: Manages to get Los Angeles to send a 2d round draft pick in exchange for Roman Cechmanek.
