Greetings from Florida...I was expecting an easy day of vacation, but over the last few hours the rumor mill has been kicking up, so here are some quick hits?

On the Sabres and Sharks....

Sources close to both teams are telling me tonight they are on alert essentially and in Buffalo they are hearing the Sharks may sending some scoring help their way, and in San Jose whispers of "the first major trade of the NHL season...and it could involve us."

On Toronto...

Ok, I am not saying the Leafs are going to grab themselves Ryan Kesler anytime soon...

Kesler is UNTOUCHABLE.

However, a source in Toronto has told me very clearly the Leafs have "set their sites on a Kesler-type player ad priority #1 and have in fact had discussions already (at two high levels) regarding a player from the western conference very much in that mold..."
