Today is Veteran’s Day, so make sure to thank a veteran for the freedoms we enjoy. In that spirit…

- Thanks to my brothers for their over 40 years of service to our country, serving from Vietnam to Iraq.

- Thanks to my nephew, currently serving in Afghanistan. His third tour of duty since 2002.

- Thanks to my cousin, who gave all in Vietnam.

- Thanks to my dad, who served proudly as a Silver Star recipient in World War II

To all vets... our undying appreciation.

Last night’s SlapShot Radio was a blast, Pete Weber and I had a lot of fun putting it together. We spoke to the author of The Making of Slap Shot: Behind the Scenes of the Greatest Hockey Movie Ever Made Jonathon Jackson. We also spoke with Steve Carlson and Jerry Houser from the movie. We have a special extended version posted at the SlapShot Radio website that features extended interviews with each of last night’s guests.

There is also a second part to the podcast featuring interviews with many more personalities involved in the movie. Part 2 features interviews with Jack Mindy (“What has come over the Charlestown Cheifs?”), former play-by-play men for the Johnstown Chiefs Gregg DeVitto and Bob McElligott, longtime beat writer for the Johnstown newspaper Mike Mastovich, USA Today entertainment writer Susan Wloszczyna, and much much more.

A big thank you to all of our guests, Pete and I hope you enjoy this labor of love.

It’s Game Night as the Predators are in St. Louis to take on the Blues tonight. It is a critical game for the Predators as they are looking to put an end to a five game losing streak that has seen the team drop from the top of the division to the bottom. These two teams have split the two games they have played so far this season and by the end of this month the teams will have played four of their six divisional games.

The Blues are coming off a bad loss in Columbus last night, dropping a 8-1 decision to the Blue Jackets. Red hot goaltender Jaroslav Halak was chased after giving up four goals in 23 minutes, and worse for the Blues, the team lost TJ Oshie for an undetermined amount of time with a broken ankle.

You knew the Blues hot streak would end, I suppose it’s the Preds luck right now that it ended the game before tonight’s. You wonder how St. Louis reacts, getting completely smoked like the Blues did last night can be a lot easier to let go of.

Puck drop is at 7pm, coverage on FS Tennessee and 102.9 the Buzz.
