First thing, today is Election Day in the US. If you are over 18… GET OUT AND VOTE!

---------------------------------------

The Predators practice this morning before they pack it up and head out west. Some observations from yesterday's session…

- Barry Trotz is much more animated in practice, more vocal and certainly unafraid to call players out.

- Marcel Goc was skating like a man who believes he will be playing soon.

- Practice ran long… some players staying on the ice for extra work for as long as 30 minutes working faceoffs, goaltending and other basics.

- The most disappointing news from practice yesterday was Barry Trotz reclassifying Matthew Lombardi as out indefinitely… a downgrade from his previous “week-to-week” guidance.

Getting this team on the road will be a good thing. Phoenix tomorrow, LA and Anaheim on the weekend.

---------------------------------------

Random thoughts…

- Wow. The NJ Devils are just bad right now… and have some very bad luck. Not only getting shut out in Vancouver, but finding out that Zach Parise will be down due to a knee problem. It’s keeps getting worse in the swamp.

- Glad to see Jason Pomminville cleared for return… the Sabres really need him.

- Jeff Deslauries has been waived by the Edmonton Oilers, a potential final insuilt from an organization that has not treated him well at all. Not a bad waiver pickup for a team that may need a little help in goal.

- Danny Briere was suspended three games and indicates he was “shocked” by the decision??? Danny, accept and move on… you did it, you put a fellow player at risk, parse the word all you want…

- Nice to see both Phoenix and Los Angeles adding games to their television schedule. The Kings have added their remaining five untelevised games to KCOP channel 13. The Coyotes have added eight games to their TV slate, bringing their total to 68 for the season. Hey FS Tennessee? Care to ante up?
