Crowded Goalie Market May Push Timelines in Montreal/Vancouver

Figure I will hit you with short mini blogs when I hear some new info. I really want to thanks our web designer for enabling a way for me to post pictures to the site form my iPad. I only need to carry one device now, and it makes updating, much easier.

Anyway, with too many goalies available this summer, and too few teams looking for goalies, sources are now saying two teams, Montreal and Vancouver, may choose to "jump the draft and move a goalie very soon following the Cup Final."

In Montreal, sources are telling me "talks regarding multiple scenarios are already in place," with another adding, "I know at least two teams who are in call-back mode." ("call back mode" is essentially when two teams come close to terms in a future deal and in this case the teams expecting the possible goalie has been given the courtesy of a call-back should anything escalate elsewhere and their possible deal is in jeopardy)

It is still widely unknown whether or not we are talking Price or Halak however. I get the sense either could be in play for the better deal. Pedigree hints to us that Price would bring back more, but I am not convinced the Habs are ready to deal either more than the other.

As for Vancouver....

We are talking Schneider and he is and extremely hot commodity. Although once again is Vancouver ready to deal the player many feel could challenge and push Roberto in camp?

I am hearing the Islanders and Panthers are most interested in Schneider, and that Washington is content with staying with their two rookie goalies for this season..

More to come..
