Nylander to GR for Rest of the Year

This is what I have been told.

Expect an announcement or for the word to start spreading soon.

I will be back in a bit with more details.

From what I can understand, the purported deals to teams in Europe never met the criteria that Michael and his agent had established. This is an interesting maneuver as it will officially free up Michael's cap space from the Capitals payroll.

Mike did well in Grand Rapids during his brief 2 week conditioning stint, so it will be nice to see him go back to somewhere he was welcomed.

Finally, because this move is to an AHL team, expect attention to remain focused on Nyls. He will likley play a very important top 2 line role for the Griffins and, if he can got on pace with how he was playing during his earlier conditioning stint in GR, I bet teams will be looking at him come trade deadline.

Either way, it seems like this monkey is finally off the Capitals back. For now, anyways. With so many twists and turns in this story throughout the last two years, one can only hope that this was the final act.
