As we approach Thanksgiving we always begin to see the serious shuffles begin, and slowly but surely panic settles in and teams look for any edge in the ever narrowing NHL.

One of the best ways to improve is to grab some experience at the blueline and this year we have one of the better crops of available deadline defenseman we have ever seen... Especially at the top with two MAJOR leaguers that are both currently sitting in teams that are 15th in their Conference.

The Untouchables....Gonchar, Lidstrom. Both are UFA's and while it is firmly believed that Lidstrom will not play anywhere but Detroit, at this point Gonchar is an uncertainty to return to the Penguins. That being said, the Penguins are obviously in the category of "Serious Cup Contenders," and contenders are about winning. They are buyers no question...
